With wondering awe

"Have you seen the new star?" My 2nd graders were abuzz one morning last month. Tom B along with Bro G. decided to create a Christmas gift for the community. They built a 20foot plus star and conned Eric H with his mules to take it up Flattop. Every evening through December the senior priest boys carried up the gas and started the generator. Yes, they carried, because no motorized vehicles are allowed. You could see the star from Lyman Lake and every other direction coming into town.

"A new star in the East" Is this a sign of the 2nd coming? :)

The star above town. Totally amazing. I miss it.

Looking up from our house at dusk.
Eric reported on the trip up. Left at 10AM, the mules did not like the sharp turns on the trail, which they had to take on the outer edge because of the length of the star. Between wagon and generator issues, they didn't return until 1AM the next morning.
